:Electric Wizard::REVIEW OF US TOUR 2001: Electric Wizard/Warhorse/Witch Mountain/Sour
Vein by sapling Here's the sapling take on Friday's show at the breakroom in Seattle. Sour Vein - 3 song set. I thought they were just starting to get some momentum when they said goodnight. Their last song of the 3 was pretty cool, but overall I wasn't that impressed. Witch Mountain - The first 2 songs and the last one were the high points of their set. 2nd song was "Indian Passage" I believe, and was my favorite. I found the guitars to be mixed a bit loud, some of the bass and drum stuff was really cool, but hard to hear over the wall of guitars. Nice lead stuff by Rob BTW. Overall - nice chunk 'o' rock. Warhorse - I thought these guys were great live. Their recordings never did much for me, but they were tight and punishing live. Their drummer sure can move for a fat man. Nice fills. I'd go see these guys again for sure. Electric Wizard - I've just recently got into these guys, and had pretty high expectations. They were 10 times better than I was expecting. From the first notes of "We Hate You" until the last bit of feedback they were amazing. I'm sure the spaceball, 8 Pabst, 3 rum and cokes and Jenn's delicious smokables were all helping me along, however I was totally coherent and immersed in the wall of sound. Unreal shit. Can't wait for the next show.
