:Electric Wizard::REVIEW OF US TOUR 2001:

Electric Wizard/Warhorse
Boston, MA-April 8, 2001

We got there a little late and missed 5ive, but I heard from a friend that they were excellent. I don't think Converge even played, but I'm not sure. There wasn't a time listed for them, and no one mentioned that they had played. Anyway, we got there as Warhorse was setting up. They opened with this instrumental jam that thoroughly kicked some major ass, very heavy and psychedelic. They were very tight, low and loud, it was a very good thing. The vocals sounded cool live. The highlight of their set was a killer version of Black Acid Prophecy. Electric Wizard was also great. Some of those I went with were discouraged by the bad reviews saying the Wiz had an off night, but this didn't seem like an off night at all, they were right on. They played some great tunes, like Supercoven, We Hate You, and Dopethrone, witch was excellent. The best song of the night was Return Trip, which was awesome. They kaned, it was nuts, loud, heavy, trippy scary, you name it. One of the dudes I went with said it was like finding a new religion. Great show, and they were all nice guys too, we talked with some of the members of both bands, and they were all very friendly and down to earth. Hope to see Electric Wiz again if they ever come back, and can't wait for a new album or release. I'm pretty sure that Warhorse is playing around here again soon.
